View gArtists from all over the world are creating intricate frozen models out of huge blocks of ice as the annual London Ice Sculpting festival kicks off in Canary WhaThe festival will see ten teams of sculptors battle it out in freestyle and themed competitions.

Teams from France, Poland, the USA, Belgium, Africa, Spain, Hungary, Ireland, Sweden and the UK are competing this year - challenged to create a sculpture on the theme "River of Life".

There'll also be masterclasses which allow the public to pick up a chisel and have a go at sculpting a polar bear.

Entry to the festival is free of charge and it runs until Sunday, January 12th.
