A deer seems to be stealing this baby's food in Phoenix Park, Dublin. Photographer Fran Veale explains: I was hoping to get some wildlife photographs in the Phoenix Park, one of the largest walled city parks in Europe and home to a herd of around 500 fallow deer. The man and his child were strolling through the park when they came in for a closer look at the deer. The young girl was eating some bread so it wasn't long before the inquisitive deer strolled over to investigate. She obviously wasn't scared as she started to feed the deer while her dad found the whole thing very amusing. Someone who was shown the pictures afterwards speculated that with the days getting colder, and the grass getting short, the deer were merely on the look out for a good feed.

A police officer aims his shotgun during clashes with protesters in central Kiev. Three people have died in clashes between protesters and police in the Ukrainian capital Wednesday, according to medics on the site, in a development that will likely escalate Ukraine's two month-long political crisis. The mass protests in the capital of Kiev erupted after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych spurned a pact with the European Union in favour of close ties with Russia, which offered him a $15 billion bailout.Picture: AP Photo/Efrem Lukatsky
