Teen beaten to death in Soweto
Johannesburg - A teenager was killed and another is in a critical condition after they were beaten by two men in Dobsonville Extension Three in Soweto on Saturday morning, Gauteng police said.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the two 16-year-olds were carrying electrical appliances when two men accosted them.
The men apparently tried to apprehend the teenagers because they believed the appliances were stolen.
The men allegedly severely assaulted the teenagers and one died at the scene. The other was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
"It is not yet confirmed whether the goods were stolen," Makhubela said.
