Crochet Newborn Crown

Got a member in the family circle that is pregnant or a friend here something you could crochet her to make her feel like queen or princess from the word go.
I got this pattern from Domestic Bliss Squared.

Newborn Crown Crochet Pattern

G or H Crochet Hook. A G hook will yield a very small crown, an H will yield a larger one (almost a 0-3 month size)
Worsted weight yarn. I found that a cotton yarn will hold it's shape the best. The light pink crown above is a bamboo yarn, and the dark pink is 100% cotton.
Small jewels, the kind with holes for sewing onto things. I got a bag of 20 for about $2 at Joann's!
sewing thread to match the color of your yarn, and a needle.

Key
St: stitch
Ch: chain (chain stitch)
Sl St: slip stitch
SC: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
DC: double crochet
TC: triple crochet

Row 1: Ch 33**
Row 2: In 2ed st from hook, begin Hdc. Hdc to the end (31 st) ch. 2, turn.
Row 3: Hdc. across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Hdc in next st from hook. DC in next st. TC in next st. ch 2, TC in same st. DC in next st. Hdc in next st.Sl st to bind off, but when you cut leave a long tail of yarn, about 8 inches. Sew the edges of the crown together with your yarn tail.

Now you'll sew on the jewels! You can sew as many or as few as you like, I chose to do three on the front of the crown, with a larger jewel centered between two smaller ones. Just sew them on with regular sewing thread, and you're done!

**If you need this pattern to fit a larger size, simply increase by 5 stitches in your chain for row 1. For a 0-3 month crown you will chain 37, etc.
